Ga Ga over Ghoultide.................
Yes! Completely ga ga over my Ghoultide experience!
What a treat! My sweet hubby says to me one day... "Use some of my frequent flyer miles and take yourself to visit the Ghoultide show. Go see what it is truly all about - you've talked about it for some time now. I will stay home with the kids. Go have some fun, explore, do your thing."
After I gathered my jaw up off the floor, let it bake in my brain a few days.
I said YES! I'm going!!
I am sooooo glad I did!
What an amazing experience! The atmosphere, quality of works from awesome artists, and the feel/vibe in the air was simply magical!
I wanted to bottle it up and take it home to crack open in my studio.
I wanted to bottle it up and take it home to crack open in my studio.
I was so inspired
What a joy to just absorb the energy, take in all the amazing creations, and talk with many of the artist-some new to me and others I haven't seen or spoken to in years from other shows.
Thank you Ghoultide Gathering for a magical show!
Thank you Scott Smith, Bill Gilmore, and Ghoultide artists for all your hard work, talent and commitment to putting on a truly magical and quality show and sharing it with us (the public)!
and thanks sweet hubby for my much needed "Mommy getaway"
and
yes!
Oh course I splurged and bought some great Halloween Folk art - I want to respect the artists and I wont be publishing pictures of my purchases -but yes - I squeal with delight over my new additions to my special collection!
If you are a big Halloween Folk Art Fan - This show is a MUST!
Thanks again all,
Cheers,
Lurena

A Big Belated Thank You!
Well, time is buzzing by at light speed! I can hardly believe it is September already. I wanted to post a belated BIG Thank You! To all that came by the Slotin Folk Fest show and supported me in my creative efforts. It was a wonderful show and it is always great to see and meet new customers and visit with familiar faces and collectors too. Slotin Folk Fest is like an extended family of wonderful, wacky and talented artist that I look forward to seeing. So inspiring! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!
I was so caught up in set up, visiting, and admiring all the talent that I forgot to take pictures!!!!!! I know... what a shame! How could I ! My hubby had a few booth shots and this is a snippet but WOW! I really wish I could share the whole show -it is truly a site to behold for all you Folk Art lovers out there.
I will stick a post-it on my forehead next year to remind myself! Take pictures!!!!!!!
Well, on another note - I am gearing up for Halloween!
please keep checking in here and visit my Etsy shop. I will listing things throughout the month. Pumpkin Heads, Witches, etc.
Oh! and keep your eyes out for the Fall issue of PRIMS coming soon! I have some goodies published. Wooo Hoooo
Warm wishes

Many Thanks again,
Lurena

A New Year.........................
A few works to finish up from 2014 |
WOW!!!
The holidays just flew bye...........................
It was such a busy time for me with family visiting, hubby home for two full weeks and two small kids home too. We all had a wonderful holiday season and the kiddos are back in school now - (Phew) It's time to get back into the studio and start working.
First, I must do some cleaning both physically and mentally.
I love a new year - a fresh view
time to play
but
maybe
a
winter's nap
first!
